a short devotional
Isaiah 41:10 (KJV):
Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
I love the book of Isaiah. There’s so much hope in it, even though there is also darkness, despair, and judgment. But that’s much like life. Life is not all gloom. Neither is it all sunshine. But through it all, God offers the assurance that He will be with us no matter what’s happening. Not only that, He gives us strength to do what He has asked of us.
Hebrews 13:5b (KJV):
[F]or [God] hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
God will always enable us to follow what He has said, even if the path before us is incredibly hard.
Philippians 4:13 (KJV):
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
Our courage comes not from ourselves or what we’ve accomplished, but from the Source of courage. God Almighty, who promises His presence and help in every season–good or bad.
Deuteronomy 31:6 (KJV)
Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
Christian, as you walk through life today, know that God is with you. If you let Him, He will help you use His strength and His infinite courage.
